Obituary

Amanda Clymer, 80, of Greeley, passed away February 1, 2021 in Greeley. She was born September 8, 1940 in East Earl, PA to Jacob and Mary (Landis) Snader. Amanda grew up in Lancaster County, PA and graduated in 1958 from Cocalico High School. She later received her bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Colorado, and worked as a substitute teacher for nearly 20 years, teaching English. She was a member of Broomfield Christian Church, and had a deep and abiding faith in her Lord Jesus Christ that sustained her throughout her life.
Amanda married her college sweetheart, John Clymer, on May 11, 1963 in Pennsylvania. He was her bedrock and steady anchor, and the light of her life. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and took care of them often when they were young; they were her pride and joy. She was also a gifted artist, and enjoyed singing and playing piano for church.
Amanda is survived by her husband John of Eaton, who faithfully tended to her with great care and devotion during her last years of dementia. She is also survived by her children, Melody Huskerson and her husband Jeff of Eaton, CO, Candra Cook and her husband Jeff of Battle Ground, WA, Donnee Brito of Westminster, CO, and John Clymer III and wife Jen of Salinas, CA; 15 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and her siblings, John Snader, Emma Oberholtzer, Pearl Lantz, Anna Groff, Martha Stoltzfus, and Ada Martin. I remember Amanda being a gracious and welcoming hostess. She had a way of making guests feel special. When I visited the summer I was 41, she saw my graying hair, went out n bought hair color & colored my hair!
I admired her ability to shop thrift stores for clothing & dress very well put together with her purchases.
The first time I heard "In my heart there rings a melody" was when Amanda introduced the song to our family. I always liked that song.
I pray you will feel God's presence with you, as he promised to never leave you.
