Frances M. Rutt, beloved daughter, sister, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend passed away peacefully at Brookdale Senior Living in Greeley on February 8, 2020 at the age of 94.
She was born October 7, 1925 at home on the family farm in southwest Weld County to George and Amelia “Mollie” (Spomer) Dreith, Jr. She spent her childhood and young adult life helping with all of the work of living on a farm.
She attended schools in Johnstown, graduating from Johnstown High School in 1943. She married Elmer D. Rutt on December 31, 1944. Their love, commitment and friendship strengthened during their years on the farm. They lived on farms in the Johnstown area their entire lives where they raised three children and instilled a strong work ethic, commitment to helping others and fairness to all.
Frances was an active member of the First Congregational UCC in Loveland where she sang in the choir over 20 years, served on several committees, taught Sunday School, served as trustee, financial secretary and president of Women’s Fellowship. She was also a member of the Forget-Me-Not Garden Club in Johnstown where she held several offices and helped in all projects.
Thankful to have shared her life include her children; Debra (Joel) Gray of La Junta, Clifford (Lydia) Rutt and Rodney Rutt and friend Shelly all of Johnstown, five grandchildren; Darrin, Chris, Kendra, Ian and Tianni Rutt, five great-grandchildren; Jacob, Allison, Nickolas, Delaney and Samuel Rutt.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Elmer, brother Harold Dreith, sisters Helen Axelson, Florence Sterling, Dorothy Jean Dreith, Virginia Manning and MaryAnn Yocky.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Friday, February 14 at the Adamson Life Celebration Home. Interment 9:30 a.m. Saturday, February 15 at the Johnstown Cemetery. Life Celebration 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Congregational Church, 800 N. Lincoln, Loveland with a reception to follow.
