Dora Isabel Santillanes (81) passed away at Medical Center of the Rockies on Sunday, May 3, 2020. She was born in Las Vegas, New Mexico on June 4, 1938 to Abel (Alice Encinias) Santillanes. The oldest of 8 children, Dora grew up in Torrington, WY and attended Torrington HS and later took classes at AIMS Community College. They were all dedicated to their work, so Dora worked for Kodak for 20 years, then Zales for 20 years and achieved top sales person of the year, and 20 years as accounting clerk for Weld County Social Services. Dora was soft spoken, but spoke loudly with her clothing, which she loved to shop for. She loved her dogs; Mitzi and Daisy. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Greeley.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and siblings; Connie, Rebecca, Jerry and Gene. Dora is survived by her son Michael Rojas of Greeley. Her siblings; Elma (Tony) Servantez of Torrington, WY, Abel Santillanes of Douglas, WY, and Elsie (Tony) Gonzalez of Cheyenne, WY.

Celebration of Life will take place at Adamson’s Life Celebration Home, 3:00 p.m., Friday, July 17, 2020 with a placement of cremated remains into the Cremation Gardens at Adamson. To leave condolences for the Dora Santillanes family, please visit

My heart breaks at the loss of such a beautiful and amazing woman. Dora was such an amazing friend, always welcoming and loving. I miss reading her messages every morning, I miss talking to her about life, and I miss her infectious smile. She is truly missed. My condolences to her family.

I didn’t know you for very long, but the time I spent working with you was some of the best time I had in my adult life. It breaks my heart that I wasn’t close enough to be able to say goodbye before you passed on but I hope you know that you will always have a piece of my heart always and forever. Dora was a wonderful woman to work with at DHS. She was always smiling and always interested in updates about my daughter. She will be truly missed. She was a bright light in the business office. I loved her sense of style and her friendship. May you rest in peace dear lady.
