Obituary for Eugenia Walsh

Eugenia “Jeanne” Walsh, 95, passed away peacefully in Loveland, CO on February 1, 2021. She was born in St. Albans, Queens, New York to William F. Mulroney and Mary A. Rowley.
Jeanne attended High School at St. Agnes in Rockville Center where she played the flute and fife and marched in the NYC Thanksgiving and St. Patrick day parades. Jeanne received her BS in Chemistry from Hunter College and her MS in Chemistry from Rutgers University. Jeanne became one of the first food chemists and worked on the development of food preservatives. She taught chemistry at Trinity College in Washington, D. C. and later taught elementary school on Long Island. She met the love of her life, Thomas F. Walsh while teaching and working on her PhD at Georgetown University in Washington D.C. They were married in 1953 in Rockville Center, New York. They later had three children and Jeanne became a wonderful Mother who assisted her children with their education and motivated them in their sports and music activities. After her children grew up, she worked for and retired from the Bureau of the Census in Denver, CO.
Jeanne will be remembered as an avid reader. She loved watching her sons play sports and loved playing flute with her daughter and attending concerts. Jeanne loved the Nuggets and the Broncos and spent time with her husband and children watching professional basketball and football games. Most of all, she loved her family and the Roman Catholic Church. Jeanne studied to become a lay Carmelite and was active in her Church is the seniors at Our Lady of the Pines in Conifer, Colorado.
Jeanne was fun loving and had a beautiful infectious laugh that brought joy to others around her. She loved traveling and spending time with her children, grandchildren, brother, sister and nieces and nephews. She loved learning and sharing.
Jeanne was predeceased by her parents, her husband, her brother and sister-in-law, William and Marge Mulroney, her sister-in-law and husband Mary and Joe Lynn and nephews Michael and Patrick Lynn.
Jeanne is survived by her daughter Regina (David) Adams of Greeley, sons, Thomas Walsh of Seattle, WA and Stephen (Patricia) Walsh of Lakewood, CO, Grandchildren Patrick Adams, Katherine Adams, Conor Walsh, Jeffrey Walsh, Morgan Walsh, great grandchildren Raegan Gonzales, Ella Gonzales, Natalia Adams, sister Mary F. Mulroney of Toppsfield, MA and numerous nieces and nephews and step grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5:00-5:30pm on February 9th followed by a rosary at 5:30pm at Adamson Life Celebration Home. Mass of the Christian Burial will be 11:00am on February 10th at Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Greeley Colorado. Interment will at Fort Logan National Cemetery at a later date.
Memorial contributions can be made to St. Mary’s Catholic School or Food for the Poor in care of Adamson Mortuary, 2000 47th Avenue, Greeley, Colorado.
