Florence Mae Fahrenbruch, 73, of Kersey, passed away at her home on Friday, January 8, 2021 surrounded by her family. She was born in Stockton, KS to Francis and Mattie (Shaw) Eshler on February 25, 1947.

Florence married Edward Fahrenbruch, April 2, 1967 in Greeley.

Florence attended high school in Stockton, KS. She spent many years working in the cafeterias at Platte Valley Elementary and North Colorado Medical Center. She also worked in the Old America Framing Department. She loved volunteering at the Union Colony Civic Center, where she made many special friends. Her all-time favorite “job” was as daycare for her great-nephew, JJ. She was proud to dedicate four years to his care, and they built an unbreakable bond.

Her greatest passion was spending time with family, attending every possible event. She adored spending time with granddaughter, Blake, getting her hair and nails done. She was on the Advisory Board of the Grand Choice Club, where she was able to travel and take many trips to Black Hawk. She rarely missed Bingo night at the Moose Lodge, where she was a member for many years.

Survivors include her son Dan (Karrie) Fahrenbruch of Kersey; daughter Amy Fahrenbruch (Gary Hendershot) of Ault; grandchildren Trent and Blake Fahrenbruch of Kersey, Andrew Hendershot of Las Vegas, NV, Jenna Hendershot of Thornton; sisters Kathy (Alan) Ley of Evans, Darlene Cole of Union, MO; brother-in-law Ken Carey of Fort Morgan; nephew Buck (Janelle) Shultz of Eaton; niece Becky (John) Minney of Greeley; nephew Bo (Alisha) Shultz of Greeley; great-nephews JJ, Zach, and Nathan; great-nieces Jordan, Brinley, Chloe, and Aubree.

I had the pleasure of working with Flo at the Union Colony Civic Center for many years while I was the City's Festival Coordinator. Flo was the epitome of a great volunteer... always willing to lend a helping hand no matter what was asked of her and doing it with a big warm smile on her face! When I'd see her before the Festival of Trees, she always let me know how excited she was for it and how she'd be helping. Flo always made me feel what we did as a team (UCCC staff and volunteers) was so important for the community. We are all luckier to have know this amazing woman. I will cherish the memories I have of her!
