Obituary

Grace Irma (Vigneault) LeBlanc, 94, of Greeley passed away September 14, 2020. Grace was born April 15, 1926, to Alphonse and Antionette Vigneault in Manchester, New Hampshire.
She graduated from St. Marie Catholic High School in 1943. As a young lady, Grace loved to ice skate and dance to big band music.
On May 11, 1946, she married Louis Paul Raymond LeBlanc, also of Manchester, New Hampshire at Westover Air Base, Massachusetts.
Grace and husband, Louis, relocated to southern California in the late 1940s. In August 1949, daughter Anne Claire was born. Seven years later, in December 1956, daughter Charlotte Gay arrived. Completing the family twelve years later, daughter Laura Louise was born in January 1969.
Grace enjoyed living in the state of California for many reasons but the natural resources led to two of her favorite pastimes. In the late 1950’s, she became a “rockhound”, enjoying the recreational study and collection of rocks, gems, minerals, or fossils from their natural environments. Due to her love of seafood that began as a child growing up on the east coast, Grace and family spent many weekends “clamming” and “crabbing” on the beaches along the central coast of California.
As an accountant for the United States Government for 30 years, Grace was very proud of the military and space programs that she supported over her career. The one program that she was most proud of was the Apollo 11, Lunar Landing Mission, on July 11, 1969. Grace got her real estate license at age 53 and enjoyed working as a realtor for 10 years.
Grace moved to Greeley, CO after her retirement in 1992 in order to spend more time with her grand-children, Cassandra Iris and Justin Tyler. They both have great memories of attending Denver Bronco Training Camp every summer with Grandma. Grace enjoyed beating everyone at Scrabble, and traveling the United States and abroad as much as she could. When Thomas Jefferson arrived in 1996, Grace moved to Redondo Beach, CA to care for her new grandson. She returned to Greeley in 2000 and enjoyed being part of the Daylily Club. In 2015, Grace moved to The Greeley Place where she made many friends and enjoyed the active senior community there.
Grace is survived by her children - Anne Linn (Larry), Goleta, CA; Charlotte Davis (Anthony Garcia), Greeley, CO, and Laura Burnett (Anthony Martorelli), Moorpark, CA. Grandchildren – Cassandra Kauffman (Britton), Rincon, PR; Justin Davis (Aundrea Pena), Greeley, CO and Thomas Hooper, Moorpark, CA. Great-grandchild – Aeden Kauffman, Rincon, PR. Brother – Gerald Vigneault, Abbeville, SC. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews living in various states across the United States.
Grace was preceded in death by her parents Alphonse and Antionette Vigneault. Sisters – Loretta Proulx, and Claire Cheney. Brother – Paul Vigneault

Tribute by Cassandra Kauffman - Grace's grand daughter
The days are long, but the years are short.
Yesterday, on the same day as Aeden's birthday, my grandmother, Grace LeBlanc, passed away.
It was an emotional day for me as she was my last living grandparent.
But the timing of it showed me how truly the perfect circle of life is.
I am so very glad she was able to meet her only great grandbaby last summer.
What a long and lovely journey of 94 revolutions around the sun she had.
If anything, our mortality helps us appreciate all the struggles of the generations past that brought us here to this point to experience this magical, short (even if it sometimes feels dreadfully long) crazy trip we call life until it is our turn to go. Fly with the angels, Grandma. ❤

So many wonderful and happy memories of Grace while growing up in Lancaster! Band trips, camping at the beach and the Grand Canyon during spring break in high school! I will always remember her big, beautiful smile! Loving condolences from Patrick, Karen and Katie Dwyer.
