Guadalupe Cardenas, 76, of Eaton, passed away on December 6, 2020 in Greeley, Colorado. She was born to Marcelo and Benita (Borjas) Zavala on November 18, 1944 in Mexico.
Guadalupe will be remembered by most for her giving and loving nature. Her smile and presence were contagious to others. She was known around her town for her amazing burritos that she would share with others. Guadalupe loved to cook and bake cakes and shared with whomever came into her home. She enjoyed having her family and friends in her home for get togethers. She loved going out to eat and shopping. She was a very organized and meticulous woman and loved having a clean home. Above all, she loved her Catholic faith and adored her family. She will be deeply missed by all that knew her.
She was survived by her children, Gerardo (Iduvijes) Cardenas, Guadalupe (Mark) Zamora, Cecilia Palacios (Guadalupe Herrera) and Adriana Rincon (Narciso Rincon-Martinez); 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; siblings, Juan Jose Zavala and Mario Alejandro Zavala.
Guadalupe was preceded in death by her husband, Crescencio Cardenas, daughter, Elisa Cardenas; and siblings, Martha, Manuel and Fidencio Zavala.

Adriana and family,
I am so very sorry to hear that both your Mom and your sister both have died just within a few day of each other. This has to be very difficult for your whole family. Your heart must be hurting something awful. My prayers and love to you at this time. I think of you so often, we just have not seen each other for awhile.
May the gentle hand of God comfort you and give you his everlasting peace.
In love and friendship,
Shirley Hart

I am so sad to see of Lupe's passing. I first met her when I was driving for Senior Resource Services and had the honor of taking her to various appointments. I had so much fun being with her she eventually just started calling meat home and if at all possible I would help her out. Driving back and forth I learned so much from her. She'd share stories about her children and her husband, and her enjoyment of time spent with the grandchildren. She'd talk about her family in Mexico. She was so proud of all of her family. She'd try to tell me how to make special meals and laugh at my attempts to say things in Spanish. I loved her tamales! I'd see her at the Eaton Rec Center at exercise classes and always got a hug. She enjoyed the classes so much because she got to be around friends and meet new people! I will always treasure the time I got to spend with her. She will be missed.

My deepest condolences to Lupe’s family. I was so sad to see that both Lupe and Elisa had passed away. I met Lupe at the Eaton Rec Center. She was always so happy! I would go pick her up and the first thing she would do when she got into the car was make the sign of the cross. She loved her family. I’ll miss our visits and seeing her and Elisa sitting on the front porch. May they both Rest In Peace.
