Obituary

Lloyd Efton Crook of Greeley, CO, formerly of Longmont, CO went to join his beloved wife on May 13, 2021. He was 89 years old. He was born in Lewistown, MT to Efton and Mildred Crook (Broad). The second of 9 children.
Lloyd was raised on the family ranch south of Lewistown, which had been homesteaded by his grandfather in the late 1800s. He attended Bear Paw School, a one room country school not far from his home. He then graduated from Fergus High School in 1949 in Lewistown.
He served his country by enlisting in the Army from 1951-1953, serving in Germany and Denmark.
Lloyd attended Montana State University majoring in Vocational Agriculture and General Science, Graduating with highest honors in 1960.
Lloyd married the love of his life, Maureen Helen Moore on June 30, 1957. Lloyd was a proud father and grandfather, deeply devoted to his family, never missing a chance to take pictures at all the family celebrations and holidays. Papa Crook will be very missed.
Lloyd taught Science, Shop and Vocational Agriculture at Joliet High School, Joliet, MT for two years. He was the FFA Sponsor and Senior Class Sponsor, as well. In 1962 as the result of a sugar beet exhibit, he and his students presented at the Montana State Fair, Lloyd was offered a job with Great Western Sugar.
He spent numerous happy years working for Great Western Sugar and Hilleshog Mono-hy. Later in his career in seed sales, he traveled extensively to many countries, including, Iran, Egypt, Australia, New Zealand, Sweden and various countries in Europe. Lloyd and Maureen had countless happy memories of their travels overseas, as well as, in their RV to many interesting and fun places in the US and Canada.
Lloyd and Maureen were active members of the Red Dale Drifters camping club. Lloyd served as the official photographer for the group.
Lloyd is survived by his two daughters, Cynthia Green (Mel) and Kathleen Ihle (Gary), two sons, Steve Crook (Vickie) and Lloyd George Crook (partner Andraya), Grandchildren, Shawnee Durant, Aaron Lippold, Megan McKenna (Miles), Jason Ihle (Yazney), Kendel Ihle and Michael Crook (Stephanie). Great grandchildren, William Lloyd Crook, Giada Ihle, Julia Ihle, Emma Ihle, Kioni Durant, Dylan Durant, Alyssa Durant, Brandon Durant and Carter McKenna. He is, also, survived by sister, Marjorie Jumper, brothers Dwayne Crook (Mary Jo), Clarence Crook (Fran), Mirven Crook (Marie) and Cleo Crook (Diana). He had many nieces and nephews who loved their uncle “Bunky”. Lloyd is preceded in death by Maureen, his wife of 58 years, a still born daughter, sisters, Deloris Vanek (Stanley), Theresa Bachman (Howard) and Berniece Maas (Ed).
Services will be held in late July at the family homestead in Lewistown.
