Marilyn Joyce Lesser, 87, died at 4:30 P.M. on Saturday April 18, 2020. Marilyn was in GOD’s loving arms along with her daughter’s when she passed. A private graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 30 at Sunset Memorial Gardens. A Life Celebration at First Christian Church will be announced at a later date.

Marilyn, the daughter of Orlo M. and Ethel M. (Billings) Truesdell, was born on January 31, 1933 in Eaton Colorado. She attended La Grange & Hazelton schools. In 1944, her family moved to Wakeeney, Kansas and then returned to Colorado in 1946. Marilyn attended Meeker Junior High school and graduated from Greeley High in 1950. Following graduation, she worked at Weld County Hospital and later worked for Hendrie and Bolthiff Company.

On December 30,1951, Marilyn married Harold C. Lesser at the Presbyterian Church in LaSalle. She later moved with her husband to Pensacola, Florida where he was stationed with the U.S. Navy. In 1953 they moved to Whidby Island, Washington until he completed his tour of duty.

In 1955, they moved to Kansas City, Missouri and she worked in the Loan Office at City National Bank & Trust. When they returned to Greeley, Marilyn was employed by Monfort’s for thirty-one years as an Executive Secretary before her retirement in 1992.

Marilyn and her husband traveled extensively throughout the United States and other countries. They loved vacationing and spending good times with their dear friends Richard and Darlene Helzer. She always enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Marilyn enjoyed dancing to Swing Band music, bowling, ceramics, and baking numerous family goodies for the holidays. Most of all she loved staying active with her church and visiting various relatives in Kansas.

Words alone can never truly express our sincere and heartfelt thanks to everyone at Windsong Memory Care who has taken such good care of Marilyn. You gave her and her family such great happiness and support throughout her stay there. It has been so encouraging to know that we had a community of care givers that embraced her journey. May God bless you richly!

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harold and brother Donald L. Truesdell. Marilyn is survived by her daughter Jami Shepherd and Chris Pacheco of Littleton, Colorado; Jerry L. Truesdell, brother, Patricia A. Rhone, sister, all of Greeley. Several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews from the Truesdell, Lesser and Adkisson families.

Memorial contributions may be made to the “First Christian Church” in care of Adamson, 2000 47th Ave., Greeley, CO 80634. Friends may leave condolences at Adamson

I was an across-the-street of Marilyn and Harold's in Villa Serena. What a kind lady she was -- always concerned about my safety when she saw me on a ladder working with Christmas lights! Jami, you've been in my thoughts ever since I saw the notice in the newspaper. Judy Brumley

Thank you so much Judy. I do remember you as well. Glad you got to know my parents and be their neighbor.

This was the day me and Nathan took Marilyn to get ice cream. I think she really enjoyed getting out. We will miss you Marilyn.

Mom, Chris and I love you so much. You were always so fun and spontaneous whenever we came to see you. We loved when we could make you laugh and put a twinkle in your eyes when we brought you candy! You were always there for me when I needed a shoulder to lean on and to dry my tears. Chris and I loved playing music for you so that we could make you smile. You are with GOD now and we know he is going to take good care of you. Love always and forever Mommy.

Jamie and family...Although I hadn't seen Marilyn for many years, she is someone I didn't ever forget.....such a charming, calming, caring person that always had time for a chat....I worked with her at Monforts...actually took over her position when she retired.....
may God grant you peace in the memories you cherish....with sincere sympathy, Nan Walrath

I have many fond memories of my Aunt Marilyn because growing up we were fortunate enough that our parents were all so close and got together often for holidays, picnics and just about anything that they could make a party out of! We were close with our cousins and sometimes may have gotten into a little trouble in Milliken at Grandmas! All in all we grew up in a loving family atmosphere and also knew about Jesus because of our parents, aunts, uncles and grandparents!
I will always remember her smile and her laughter! We were so happy that Aunt Marilyn and my Mom Dorothy got to Heaven on the same day April 18, 2020 .. I Can Only Imagine .. what a greeting they both received from family and friends when they arrived!
Forever in their eternal home and we will see them again when our Lord and Savior is ready for us too. Love, Karen

Thanks for your kind words Karen!
