Obituary

Marsha Ellan Nowell (Willis) was born in Hot Springs, Arkansas on October 10, 1951. On Saturday, August 22, 2020, at the age of 68, she passed peacefully with her family by her side. She leaves behind a son, Gregory (44) and his wife Kari (43), a daughter, Erin (40) and her husband Darren (51), and six grandchildren, Victoria (24), Spencer (23), Rebecca (22), Corben (21), Emily (19), and Peyton (13). In addition, she leaves behind numerous other family members and close friends.

Marsha, known as “Mimi” to many, loved her family and friends deeply and made every effort to make those that knew her to feel as such. She lived with her daughter and son-in-law and made every effort each day to live life to its fullest. She loved to play the piano, sew, quilt, and craft, among many other things. She was witty and fiery, with a maternal instinct and spirit that made anyone that knew her to feel as though they were blessed with another mom.

Marsha spent her childhood in Benton, Arkansas - about 30 miles from her place of birth, but as a teenager, moved to Santa Monica, California. She often reminisced about mornings spent on the beaches and how much she loved the opportunity to spend her teenage years by the ocean. Last July and prior to being diagnosed with an illness, she was able to enjoy a trip back to the beach with her daughter and youngest grandson, something that she said was on her “Bucket List”. She often said, “I just need my toes in the sand and the warm salty air on my skin”, and was glad to have had that opportunity.

While her immediate family has already shared many memories celebrating Marsha, an open house Celebration of Life will be held at her daughter’s house on Sunday, September 6, 2020 beginning at 1:00 pm. Friends and loved ones are invited to stop by, enjoy some refreshments, and share a toast in her honor. To leave condolences for Marsha’s family, www.adamsoncares.com
