Obituary

On Monday, March 1, 2021, Mary H. Sipres Salazar, loving wife, mother and grandmother passed away at the age of 85. Mary was born August 18, 1935 in Brownsville, TX to Lorenzo and Prajedes (Navarro) Sipres.

She was a cook for the Weld County Headstart program for 10 years and sold Avon for almost 30 years in Kersey and Greeley.

Mary was married to Secundino R. “Sal” Salazar, Sr. in 1955. They raised two sons and a daughter. She loved growing flowers, house plants and gardens. She loved to cook and feed people, receiving many compliments for her delicious dishes of all kinds.

Active in her community, she was a member of the Rodartes Seniors. She loved music by Elvis Presley and Los Tigres del Norte, dancing, especially cumbias and old Rock and Roll. Her singing was soft and beautiful, pleasing to all who heard.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Lupe Campoz and brothers, Florentino and Julien Sipres. She is survived by her three children; Jay (Jerri) Salazar, Gilbert (Susan) Salazar and Yolanda (Iram) Martinez, siblings; Juan, Jose, Jesus Sipres, Sally Gonzalez and Rosa Briseno, ten grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and two great, great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and her loving companion of 11 years, Paul Gonzalez.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, March 9 with Recitation of the Rosary at 7 p.m. at Adamson. Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 1311 3rd Street, Greeley. Interment Linn Grove Cemetery. A potluck reception will follow at the Moose Lodge, 3456 11th Avenue, Evans. Please bring a dish that reminds you of Mary.

My condolences to my three cousins. Your Mom, my Aunt was very a beautiful women with class. She was always smiling and joking. She will be missed by so many, especially my dad.

I remember when my dad had surgery on his hip, Mary would call to say goodnight. I would hear them both pray Before hanging up. I know God brought them together to bring some happiness into their broken hearts. They seemed so happy when they were together. It made me happy to see them happy. May you rest in peace Mary. You will be missed. ❤
