Lloyd Worley

I’m Lloyd Worley, and Pat was secretary of the English Department when I was chair of English back in 1988-90. During my term as chair, Pat’s job changed from secretary to office manager. Pat was excellent at her job and very helpful to me, and we got along so well. During my first year as a professor, I lived alone while my family temporarily remained in Pennsylvania to conclude home sale, finish school, and so on. At Christmas, I was so lonely, so Pat invited me to her church’s Christmas celebration of carols sung in a 19th century set. The celebration ended with snow (artificial)! My spirits were much lifted, and I never forgot Pat’s kindness in this—and many other—ways. Thank you, Pat, for everything.
