Obituary

On April 22, 2021, Paul Franklin Hnizdil, loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, passed away at the age of 88.

Paul Franklin Hnizdil was born on November 13, 1932 in Sterling, Colorado to Frank Joseph Hnizdil from Czechoslovakia and Blanche Marie Sevic from Dardanelle, Arkansas. He grew up on the family homestead at Willard and attended grade school in Willard and High School in Merino.

In February of 1953 he joined the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged in May of 1955. In August of 1955 he met and married Shirley Lebsock from Atwood, CO. They had six children James Allen in 1956, Martin Robert in 1958, Sharilyn Kay in 1960, Monica Jean in 1961, LaVonne Grace in 1963 and Thomas Paul in 1964. They were married for 23 years.

In the fall of 1955 they moved north of Stoneham to the MacKenzie farmstead. Paul farmed there and in 1959 the gospel came to the Liberty School House through God's true servants. Paul made his choice to serve God in March of 1962 and was faithful to the end. They moved to the Buckingham Ranch in the fall of 1964, and Paul continued to farm and ranch there until he retired.

Paul met Betty Jean Reed and they were married in February 1997. They lived in Greeley for 24 years and enjoyed traveling, their beloved pets, and fishing. Paul's greatest love was serving God and helping others. To the very end, Paul was praying and waiting for the day when God called him home.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, son James Allen, three brothers: Tom, Frank, and Chuck Radda. His sisters: Ann Everhart and Vi Christopherson.

He is survived by his wife Betty, ex-wife Shirley, sister Addie Johnson, and brother Vern Hnizdil, 5 children, 17 grand-children and 16 great grandchildren, extended family and dear friends.

Paul’s Life Celebration Service will be held 10:00am Wednesday, April 28th at Adamson Life Celebration Home, 2000 47th Ave. Greeley, CO 80634. A reception will immediately follow. Interment is 2:30pm at Sunset Memorial Gardens 16339 County Road 41, Sterling, CO 80751.

Was glad to have been around in s9me of his better days. To see him in fellowship meetings and at times of friends gathering together. Then to have a wee visit in the home. We are glad that there is One that knows and understands the deepest needs of the heart and can meet that need. COVID has hindered getting to see him the last while, but no one could stop the Lord from being close to him - in thought, meditation and heart.
