Obituary

Rodney Harold Kontz, 67, of Greeley, passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2021 in Aurora. He was born May 9, 1953 in Coleman, South Dakota to Harold and Viola (Hoyer) Kontz. Rodney grew up in both South Dakota and Loveland and graduated from Loveland High School in 1971. He married Debbie Nix in August of 1979.
Rodney worked for Safeway in various positions for 50 years before retiring. He enjoyed sports and the Denver Broncos. He loved the outdoors and nature.
He is survived by his daughters Brook Kontz of Broomfield and Kelly Kontz and husband Carl Nassimbene of Westminster, his grandson Ashton Severini of Broomfield and his siblings; Charlene Kontz of Greeley, Ken Kontz of Castle Rock and LeAnne Bodine and husband Joseph of Greeley and his ex-wife Debbie Kontz of Westminster. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Wayne Kontz.
Private family services will be held.
