Obituary

Vivian Elaine Becker (Swanson), 85, of Severance CO passed away January 28, 2021. Vivian was born in Greeley CO on March 9th, 1935 to Edna and Benard Swanson. She grew up on the family farm homesteaded east of town by the Greeley Airport.

She enjoyed her elementary years at Pleasant Valley School #58. She attended College High in Greeley CO where she was a cheerleader and enjoyed the many musical activities that she could share her beautiful soprano singing voice. She graduated in the class of 1952.
At 18, after her mother’s death in 1952, she moved with her father to Greeley from the family farm.

After moving to town, she attended the First Covenant Church of Greeley with family. She began working for the Weld County Court system. During that time she met the love of her life, Herb Becker of Windsor CO who was a bank teller at First National Bank of Greeley where she would bring the days receipts from the court to the bank. They were married in Greeley CO on September 15, 1956. They celebrated 64 years of marriage in 2020. After their wedding, they lived in Windsor, CO and also Ault, CO while working in the Northern Colorado area. During this time, they welcomed a son, Jay in 1958 and a daughter, Jill in 1964. In 1971, career opportunities moved the family to Estes Park, CO. Vivian worked as a secretary in a real estate office. Shortly after, she acquired her real estate license and purchased the office where she had been secretary. She went on to be active with the Estes Park Board of Realtors and was well known in the community until she retired. For 31 years, she enjoyed being a member of the Community Church of the Rockies. She was an accomplished vocalist and shared her talents throughout her life in the community by singing with the MountainAires as well as the church choir. She served her community as a member of the local chapter of PEO. In 2009, they retired to Loveland CO and most recently to Severance, CO which brought them closer to children and grandchildren. She loved dates out for lunch with family and supporting her grandkids in all their endeavors. She was a loyal football fan, but would enjoy whatever sport was in season to watch.

She is survived by her husband Herb Becker of Severance CO, a son, Jay Becker (Debbie) of Severance, CO, a daughter Jill Belleau (Todd) of Thornton, CO and grandchildren Dan (Megan) Becker of Gardner, KS and Nicole Belleau of Thornton, CO and Caleb Belleau (fiancé Mackenzie Blankinship) of Thornton, CO. Death leaves a heartache nothing can heal, Love leaves a memory no one can steal. She was a beautiful person, inside and out.
